Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Omega 3 Fatty acids are mostly found in fish. These are actually long chains of hydrocarbons, we divide them into saturated and unsaturated. Saturated easily accumulate solid and create solid fats accumulate in our body so we can call them unhealthy fats.

Unsaturated do not agree with each other, so as such they are much healthier fatty acids for our body. They are very valuable fats due to their beneficial effects on health. The main dietary choices of Omega-3 are:

bluefish(sardines, mackerel, tuna,) and fish from cold seas (herring, salmon).

Also algae, zooplankton, seafood, seeds and nuts.

If terrestrial animals are fed fish oil or flour. We can also get meat and eggs rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids. In cows, Omega-3 is obtained only from milk but not from meat. Fish oil and rapeseed oil are very valuable sources of Omega-3. Also flaxseed oil, olive oil and coconut contain a rich source of Omega-3.

Seeds are increasingly being included in the modern diet. Flex seed and chia seeds are very rich sources of Omega-3. 30 g of seeds contain approximately 4.7 g of Omega-3. Industrial hemp oil has the same great source.

Nowadays, much more Omega-6 fatty acids are consumed than Omega-3. This is today’s problem. The average intake of Omega fats nowadays is 0.15 g per day. Which is far below the average. To small kids, it is recommended 50 g of fish. Teenagers from 15-18 tears, it is recommended 200 g and to adults 400 g a week.

During the development of a baby, Omega-3 has an extremely important role in the development of the eyes and the brain. It is important that the future mother receives the mentioned acid in sufficient quantities during pregnancy and during the first few months of breastfeeding. Namely, the baby receives Omega-3 Fatty Acids through breast milk. Omega-3 is not only important in early life.
