An apple a day keeps the doctor away! An apple is a fruit that entices us with its taste. Numerous people consider it healing. In Norse mythology, the gods at apples to stay forever young. To the Romans, the apple was the most beloved fruit. Types of 30 types of apples were known in Roman times. Today there are almost 8000 cultivated species.
Few types of an apple
I will list a few types of apples, I will explain to you how they differ and which ones I recommend for baking and ones for cooking.
1.Gala
The apples are originally from New Zealand. It was obtained by crossing 2 types of Golden Delicious and Kidd’s Orange Red. The fruits weigh about 160 g. Lots of nice taste. Pleasant smells. It ripens in Mid-August.

2. Golden Delicious,
This type of apple is characterized by its yellow colour. It has a sweet and pleasant taste as well as the smell. There is a myth that says it was founded in 1914 in the Stark brothers’ Garden by Paul Stark. The myth says that Paul bit that apple and said “Eureka!”.
It ripens in Mid-September and that makes its overwinter almost all winter in storage!
On third place
3.Granny Smith,
the apple has a sweetish sour taste. It is produced mainly in Australia. It is also the most popular export product in that country. Its bark is bright green and firm, and as such, it is recognizable among all types of apples. It ripens in the middle of the tenth month.

4. Ajdered
This apple is red-green. Sour pleasant taste. It is very popular in east-north Europe. Like Granny Smith, it matures on the middle the 10th month and such as it can be stored all winter in storage. It’s very fine when making compote from it.
5. The Jonagold apple
is a yellow-red colour. It is very soft to eat. It is an American variety of apple. Therefore, all people from America make the apple pie. And this apple was created for baking. It has a sweetish sour taste, it was created for baking. In 1968 it was imported into Europe and ever since the Europeans have had it on their table. It was obtained by crossing Jonathan and Golden Delicacy.

6. Jonathan apple has a slightly sour taste, its basic colour is green but covered with red.

7. Freedom
Apples grow in Croatia. It is a summer apple that ripens in 8 months. It lasts a very short time. its fruit is about 200 g. Colour green red. It has a sour taste. And the flesh is white and firm. It can be used to make fruit salads. That would be it in this post.
